ABOUT MEISHANS - Meishan Preservation
Meishan pigs originated in the Taihu Lake region of China. They were domesticated over 5,000 years ago. Prized in China and Japan for their marbled meat and superior lard and fat quality. There are very few pure Meishans in the world today. It is estimated that less than 2,000 verifiably pure Meishans exist worldwide.
